From 25 to 26 June, the city of Porto, Portugal, welcomed the second face-to-face transnational meeting of the EDIGIT (Education and Digital Literacy to Grow Inclusive Talents) project. Following the project’s launch earlier this year, this event brought all partners from across Europe together again.
The main objective of this meeting in Porto was to present the final version of the methodological and pedagogical guide, along with the content index that will inform the development of the project’s training modules. During the sessions, responsibilities for creating these modules were also distributed among the various partners.
The event was hosted by EPES – Escola Profissional de Economia Social, the Portuguese member of the consortium. In addition to acting as host, EPES introduced the next planned activity, which will focus on the creation of training materials. Over the course of the two-day meeting, participants engaged in several collaborative activities, including a workshop entitled “How to develop training materials using the guidelines”, aimed at inspiring ideas and providing guidance to partners. The programme also included guided visits around the city of Porto, where attendees had the opportunity to tour the host organisation’s facilities and meet Dr Fernando Paulo, the Councillor for Education at the Câmara Municipal do Porto.
The meeting began with an overview of the project and a presentation of the national focus group findings. This was followed by sessions dedicated to project management, communication, evaluation and future planning.
As the project coordinator in Spain, CITIC emphasises the importance of this international collaboration in developing educational resources that promote greater inclusion and equity in digital education. The Inclusive Talents initiative, on which the EDIGIT project is based, is committed to providing high-quality training to enhance teachers’ digital skills, making STEM education accessible and inclusive for all.
