CITIC PRESENTS EDIGIT AT AN INSTITUTIONAL MEETING IN MADRID

On 3 February, Javier Pereira, CITIC’s deputy director and our project coordinator, presented EDIGIT alongside another initiative they are working on, HIPA, at a meeting held at CEAPAT (the State Reference Centre for Personal Autonomy and Technical Aids – IMSERSO) in Madrid. Both projects focus on making the development of new technologies more inclusive for people with disabilities.

CITIC develops inclusive technologies that enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities. Motion capture and virtual reality are two areas in which CITIC specialises, and they can support new solutions in rehabilitation, accessibility, and personal autonomy. These tools are especially relevant for the HIPA project, funded through the I+P call for proposals of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT). HIPA aims to explore new solutions in rehabilitation, accessibility and personal autonomy for people with disabilities by combining research, innovation, and the transfer of results to social and healthcare settings.

Together, EDIGIT and HIPA show CITIC’s commitment to putting people at the centre of technology research and to encouraging collaboration between academic, health, and social organisations.
