On 9 May, Irene Brage from CITIC, with students from the IES Ramón Menéndez Pidal – Zalaeta, presented the EDIGIT project and the Talentos Inclusivos initiative at the 30th Día da Ciencia na Rúa, held at the Jardines de Méndez Núñez in A Coruña, Spain. Both initiatives focus on using creativity, technology, and collaborative work to generate real solutions with a social impact for people with disabilities.
Within CITIC‘s tent, the students showcased various prototypes and adapted materials developed throughout the academic year. These included head pointers, pictogram-based materials, and adapted letters with grips, all aimed at improving the autonomy, communication, and accessibility of individuals with disabilities. During the event, EDIGIT was introduced as the Erasmus+ international version of Talentos Inclusivos, expanding the programme’s reach across Europe to promote the exchange of good practices and the development of inclusive technological challenges in a transnational context.
Together, EDIGIT and Talentos Inclusivos show CITIC’s commitment to putting people at the centre of technology research and to encouraging collaboration between academic and social organisations.
